His contributions have been many, varied, and meaningful to the students that he's taught and the staff that he's worked with. We wish Chris Simpson all the best in his retirement!
"I started my teaching career in Consort, Alberta in 1995. I taught there for five years then my wife and I moved to Spruce View where I took a teaching position in Caroline for eighteen months. In February of 2001, I jumped at the opportunity to teach at Sundre High School where I taught Social Studies until my retirement this year.
I have been blessed to work in a school where positive relationships between students, staff and families are valued and encouraged, where all school staff view student success and achievement as priorities and where students, parents and staff work hard to create a culture of academic achievement while recognizing the uniqueness of each and every student. When thinking about the highlights of my career, I would point to the two trips to Europe I participated in, especially the first one to Germany where we toured the Dachau concentration camp. Such a powerful experience! I also remember all the May Queen activities and coaching the Senior Boys basketball teams."
Enjoy your well-deserved time, Chris! We will miss you.
