Key Roles
I began teaching in a small First Nations community in Britsh Columbia in 1991 and a couple of years later left the north and arrived in Sundre to teach junior high. Wanderlust struck again, so after 4 years teaching junior high, my family headed to an Inuit community in the high arctic (now Nunavut). After a finishing a brief contract there, I returned to the area and landed at Bowden Grandview School, teaching math, science, and language arts in grades 8-12. After six years at Bowden, I expanded my role and became the principal of Elnora School; the next eight years were then spent as an administrator with Chinook's Edge School Division.
In 2013, I returned to the classroom, first at River Valley, then 3 years later moved to Sundre High School, where I now teach Math 10-3, 20-3, 30-3, and Shop 9-12. Part of my very first job in northern B.C. was teaching shop, and - now nearing the end of my very varied career - my plan is to finish in a role that I love in a great school and community.
I truly enjoy being back in Sundre and at Sundre High - both are a wonderful places to be.
